WILLY:s Piteå - energy study shows lower energy consumption
Two Crystal DX DO systems have been delivered and installed at WiLLY:s supermarket in Piteå Sweden in December 2009 and have been in use since then with good operational economy. We had a chat with Morgan Magnusson, Lead Technician Refrigeration & Energy, Willys Sweden to have his view on the results so far.
- "We are very pleased with the installed cooling system for the Willys store in Pitea. The installation was carried out professionally and with people who had expertise on transcritical refrigeration systems. The systems supplied by Green & Cool, has been in operation for over a year, with continuous measurement of performance and energy. The system has by default a control system that in itself measures the performance and energy consumption.
- "We have also installed additional metering equipment on the ground that the plant has been part of an internal project within Axfood Willys where we study the energy optimization. Measurements show that this store exhibits lower energy consumption compared to other stores that were involved in the investigation. We received the results as promised.", says Morgan Magnusson, Lead Technician Refrigeration & Energy, Willys Sweden.
- "The development of trans-critical systems with CO2 as refrigerant has accelerated in recent years. For anyone who purchases, for those planning for refrigeration plants and for those who install the system, it is important to understand that new knowledge is needed to exploit the new advantages of these systems."
- "Our next refrigeration system from Green & Cool will be installed shortly to Willys in Uppsala, Sweden. Our good experiences from the plant in Piteå, along with installers who have expertise in trans-critical refrigeration makes us look forward to an attractive operating economy in Uppsala."
