Opening of Green & Cool Academy
Those of us who work in the refrigeration industry are currently seeing a technical revolution take place, and it is essential that we have the right skills to keep up with developments. In November 2011 the Green & Cool Academy launches its high-quality training courses in transcritical CO2 technology for refrigeration technicians. The courses are offered in a choice of languages and take place on the premises of our training partner, PTC+ Practical Training Centre in Holland.
Courses are designed to extend the knowledge of refrigeration technicians in areas such as system solutions, practical operation, troubleshooting and installation of refrigeration systems that use R744 (CO2) as a refrigerant. Practical exercises take place in a purpose-built retail environment.

New trend monitoring function adds new setting up and troubleshooting features
Green & Cool has now extended the analysis features on its control panel to improve trend monitoring. Improvements include:
- Wider and more flexible time windows, e.g. 10 min, 30 min or 60 min.
- Zoom function down to decimal level, for increased accuracy.
- Trend data is stored for three months.
- Electricity consumption is stored as total energy per day, and can be tracked three years back in time.
- Function-based trend views allow related trends to be displayed at the same time.
- Trend data can be downloaded from the panel for analysis in Excel, for example.
These improvements make it easier to find the optimum settings to maximise efficiency and track energy use over time. The upgrade naturally also makes troubleshooting easier, if it should ever be needed.

Healthy market for Green & Cool’s condensing units
In spring, Green & Cool launched an entirely new range of compact refrigeration units with integrated gas coolers/condensers and environmentally friendly CO2 refrigerant technology. These units are designed to be placed outdoors, on a roof for example, making installation easier in most cases, since less piping is needed. We are now delivering units to a number of markets and customers are already showing considerable interest.
